Three Israeli hostages captured by Hamas have been mistakenly killed by Israeli troops preventing within the Shijaiyah neighborhood east of Gaza Metropolis, the Israel Protection Forces (IDF) introduced Friday.

The victims have been recognized by the IDF as Yotam Haim, who was kidnapped by Hamas from Kfar Aza on Oct. 7, and Samer Talalka, who was kidnapped from Nir Am. The identification of the third sufferer was not disclosed on the request of the household.

IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari stated Israeli troops discovered the hostages and erroneously recognized them as a risk. “Because of this the power fired at them and so they have been killed,” he wrote on X, the platform previously referred to as Twitter. “Throughout a scan and inspection of the realm of the incident, a suspicion arose relating to the identification of the lifeless. Hagari stated the IDF is investigating the incident.
